Hi All,

When the heater is on, I can hear the blower motor but no air is coming out of the defrost or heat ducts when the lever is placed in the appropriate position.

Any thoughts? Is it a vacuum issue somewhere?

Thanks!

Yup.  Simple fix.  The door for your heater is likely stuck closed.

If it's a non-ac car, you'll find a silver vacuum mode unit on top of the heater case on the passenger side firewall.  Push the arm toward the vacuum pod and you should have air coming out inside the car at that point.  Lube the pivot points where they protrude through the case and work them back and forth a few times.  They often stick with non-use.

If it's an a/c car, you have to pretty much access from under the car but it's the same idea.

With the heater on, if you have an assistant start the car, you should see the vacuum pod draw the arm in when the car starts.  If all is moving freely, and it still does not work, replace the mode unit.  Replacements are available from Old Air Products.

Thanks Dan,

I'll check it out and see if that's the case.
