After quite a long wait, we got our new CT6 last week. (Emerald green, Premium Luxury, all the goodies except Active Chassis).

Having driven it a few hundred miles, my first impressions are good.  Fit and finish are excellent. Interior is beyond comfortable. It is very light on its feet, handles very very well.  Ride is super. The 3.6 is certainly powerful enough for me, very quick, loafs at highway speeds.  All the tech is wonderful, and many of the safety features like lane warnings, various alarms and protections, adaptive cruise, cameras,  automatic braking, etc., should help protect an old duffer like me and those around me.  I like the auto hold when stopped.  Not too keen on the computer mirror, because of my trifocals!

The Bose Panaray sound system is fine, though I haven't had time to utilize all its glories.  The CUE system is said to be much improved, though I didn't suffer with the old one, so I can't say how much.  I seem to be getting the hang of it.

No negatives so far.  It may be the best Cadillac ever.  Time will tell.  Certainly the best one I've ever driven.  It is an expensive car, though, and for $73.5K it SHOULD be excellent.  Looking forward to living with it.

dennis,
Thanks for the CT6 input. I wondered what you drove before it? I'm driving a DTS (along with a 1955CDV) but have my eye on the CT6s...walt...tulsa,ok

Thanks Dennis.  It sure is a great looking Cadillac.  Is the back seat roomy in real world of normal front seat adjusted positions?

Does it switch from 4 to 6 cylinders and if so is it perceptible?  My Avalanche switches off some of its 8 cylinders without notice, so GM seems to have a better handle on this than Chrysler which is made highly aware when it switches some of its Hemi V-8 cylinders off (rough idle w/4 cylinders, and sudden unexpected power surges back from 4 to 8 cylinders).

I know the V-6 is more than adequate power.

Walt - last car was a 2011 CTS Cpe, AWD.  Very nice car, though the rear seats were torture.

Scott - I don't think it switches to 4 cylinders, haven't seen anything about that.  Plenty of room in the back.

Dennis.........
The local dealer was kind enough to lend me one for the weekend. This post is not to give a review, good or bad. I would like to see your comments, after say, 3 to 4 months of ownership. Would like to learn if the car has a "soul" so to speak. Don't mean to sound like a hippie, but some folks will understand what I mean.

Will do.  There have been almost universally good reviews from the motoring press.  I think the car's biggest success so far has been from Consumer Reports, which recommends it, and gave it a 95 score on road test, above just about every other car except the Tesla.   That score is higher than all its competition and would have been unthinkable in past years.  Cadillac has come a long way.

I'll post now and then and let you know how it and I get along.

In the meantime, I will be very glad when this winter weather breaks, the salt is gone, and I can get the '41 out of hibernation.  Talk about a Cadillac!
