Welcome to the Club. It is a great place to meet and enjoy the fellowship of other Cadillac folks. One thing we all enjoy is exchanging photos of our cars. Post when you can. (Here's my 1970 Fleetwood Brougham with her younger sister, my 1994 Fleetwood Brougham. Again welcome aboard. - Greg

Both very nice cars, Rene. I attached my twin 93 Sedan deVille Spring editions.  I was recently looking at a 93 4.9 Eldo like yours, unfortunately not as nice!

My daily driver and one of my dream cars is my '97 Eldorado Touring Coupe.

For those of us that see Cadillac having ended with the '04 or '05 Deville (no automatic brake release???? Really???), the '90s are the go-to cars to drive.

I also have the '72 Convertible (my other top dream car), and *really* want a '26 . . .

I really think that the 1994 - 1996 Fleetwood Brougham was the last of the real traditional Cadillac motoring experience. From it's stately look (chrome bumpers, vinyl top and whitewall tires) to its luxurious big car ride and power. My 1994 is my daily driver and at least once a week I get asked if I'm ready to sell it. I always tell folks no because I haven't found anything to replace it with as of yet. There are a few retired couples with some nice candidates for my next Cadillac, but none of them seems ready to part with their car. I love your white Fleetwood, nothing says Cadillac like that in today's market.

I'm certainly not going to knock them; in fact, I want one :)

It was, though, missing a fundamental feature:  a Cadillac V-8.

However, I'll grant the shrunken Eldorado as the successor to the '68-'78 Eldorado.   The corresponding Seville is, for most intents and purposes, a four door version of the same.  Whether or not to include the FWD Deville is another question, but the transition from Deville to DTS is pretty clear: as someone put it, the last Deville had a wood and leather steering wheel, while the next year's DTS shared a steering wheel with the Chevy Silverado truck . . ..

And while the FWD Deville wasn't the same as a traditional Cadillac, it was still built by Cadillac as a Cadillac, while the there letter Cadillacs (TLCs?) are GM products with a Cadillac label and more leather.  So I'm inclined to give the FWD Deville the benefit of the doubt (except for the '05 with the missing brake release).

But six and four cylinder engines?

*shudder*
