Does anyone have information where I may inquire to find the paint code for the interior window trim for my 56 Seville.  The exterior code is 98, Emerald Green, and the interior is code 16, Green leather with white bolster.
I have not found this information in the Authenticity Manual, or the packet of information I received from Greg Wallace or in the Shop Manual.
Thank you, Larry
PS:  I will also post this request on the Cadill=Ikes and Mid-Century discussion forums.
I forgot to mention the paint books  or DVDs of vintage paint colors do not give this information.

Larry,

PS Same reply at your Cadill-Ikes/Mid-Century post..!  ;)

If you have a copy of the 1956 Data Book/Specifications Manual which you can download it from the GM Heritage Center -> https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/docs/gm-heritage-archive/vehicle-information-kits/Cadillac/1956_Cadillac_VVI.pdf, the Spec Manual will show you the color combinations.

You show yours to be exterior 98 as Emerald Green, the manual shows Emerald Green to be 96 do you have a “SO” code on your tag?
If you look at the Specs Manual page 9 it shows the interior color combinations available for the exterior color codes.

So code 96 Emerald Green for code “E” Eldorado Biarritz Convertible shows 16-17 in bold and 10-11 and code “H” Eldorado Seville Coupe 16-57 in bold and 10-50.

Bold represents standard color while non-bold represent suggested non-standard colors if I’m not mistaken.  ???

Now if you go down to page 19 for code “E” and page 23 for code “H” it shows the interior color combination.

HTH

Good luck..!

Sorry Jose,
The code is 96.  Failing eyesight causes many problems, this being one.
And I do have a copy of the Specificatins Manual and the Data Book received from Greg Wallace.

Larry,

If I understand your question you want the color of the metal trim on the headliner surrounding the windows . According to the MPL it's the same as the exterior Emerald Green, Dupont No. 2298 or R-M  L-22-G064. The finish is most likely semi-gloss.

Larry,

FYI

Also reply on your topic at the Cadill-Ikes/Mid-Century chapter.

Not sure if you have access to the Mid-Century site, there are several documents that could help you.

I’m not sure if the paint shops can match the paint with the old formula, just in case you can get the old Dupont paint chip from here -> http://historicalcolorlibrary.axaltacs.com/hcl/ for the mix  ???

Also TCP can get the correct color mix just as an alternative -> http://www.autocolorlibrary.com/aclchip.aspx?image=1956-Cadillac-pg01.jpg

Good luck..!
