Would your recommendation not painting the condenser on my 1956 Cadillac? It appeared a "natural" (but old!) metal look when I removed it to rebuild the engine, but was thinking it looked a bit dull considering all the rest of the underhood detailing I'm doing with the rebuild. Would painting it black like the radiator affect the heat transfer? I was hoping I could lightly dust coat it black so it blends better. Thoughts?
Thanks for your advice all.

All of the ones I have seen have been painted.  I'd use the thin paint that Eastwood sells for radiators.  It will provide a black finish, but with minimal thickness.  Or just any semi-gloss black, applied thinly...

Chuck,

I also agree with Art’s comment, however it you have the original AC “ok” stamped on the compressor you need to cover it.  ;)

I do recall that someone had a rubber stamp made to apply the same inspection stamp to the compressor.

Good luck..!

John, usually a computer has a program to reduce the size of pictures. On a Windows system, it's called "Paint"

Roger,

Correct and I use it often. But I am just too lazy to do so all the time.
