I need recommendations of where to buy mechanical parts for a 1957 Cadillac. Which on-line or other outlets have correct quality parts like spark plugs, spark plug wires, points, fuel sending units & gaskets, belts, thermostats & gaskets, fuel filters, water pumps, heater hose, shock absorbers, tower clamps, etc.  Thanks

I get a lot of these parts at rockauto.com. They have all price ranges and quality of parts.
I got myself a Cadillac but I can't afford the gasoline (AC/DC Down Payment Blues)

My suggestions are:

spark plugs, points, fuel filters  = look on ebay for NOS;

spark plug wires = The Brillman Company in VA

fuel sending units & gaskets, shock absorbers = Kanter in NJ;

belts, thermostats, heater hose = NAPA or Rock Auto

gaskets = Olsen's Gaskets in WA;

water pumps = Buy another or rebuild yours?  For rebuilding Arthur Gould in NY.  To buy another, try ebay or Arizona Vintage Parts.

tower clamps = Try ebay or amazon.

I have had good results with Rock Auto , both with the parts and best price.

I suggested NOS spark plugs on ebay.  However, Washburn's Wisdom in this month's Self Starter demonstrates that NOS plugs may fail.  He suggests buying brand new spark plugs which you can easily get at your local auto parts store.  I stand corrected.

I had great service From Arizona Vintage Parts. Received a rebuilt AC fuel pump for my 59 CDV in two days and it was priced right.

I can supply the suspension, steering parts if need those.  Rare Parts is a suspension parts maker here in the USA and are OE quality parts.  Typically, I will charge $50 to $75 over my cost for your total order.  There is quite a bit of margin in the list price, so that is big savings over the posted prices on their website.

Those are the parts I am running in my 58 Brougham.

Let me now if I can assist.
