Sorry, just getting back from another trip and found a question directed to me.

I carried a very small tool bag. I had a set of box end wrenches, an assortment of screwdrivers, a 3/8 socket set with deep sockets, channel locks, regular pliers, needle nose, wire cutter. That's about it. I didn't figure on tackling any big jobs on the road - that was for a shop. But this set allowed me to fix the speedometer breakdown and install a new cruise transducer after taking apart the original one and finding that it was not repairable.

I was able to find good repair shops (Wilkinson in Holbrook, Taflans in Kingman, Goodyear in Neosho) where people knew about older cars and liked working on them with me.

I carried my shop manual and Cadillac Tim's AC guide as well.

I at least impressed a couple of hotel staffs when I put the hood up and started tearing into things in the parking lot...

Mr T Lewis,
what a great picture and a great looking '59!  I had forgotten what it was called, but we went around 2001...
Do you still have that '59? I hope you do and I'm jealous whether you do or not. I bet you have one or more
Caddys!
Thanks for the pic.
