1940 Lasalle License plate

Hi guys I own a 1940 Lasalle 52 Coupe in very original condition. I imported the car from the United states it came with a brass plate which says Lasalle 1940. The plate looks original to the car. Does this have any significance? Was this possibly a display car? Or is this standard in other Lasalles of this year as well? I am attaching a picture for your reference.

Just a plate that some owner had made for when he displayed his car at shows.

hi steve strangely enough the documentation shows that the car was never used after the late 60's kept in a storage facility and pulled out only a couple of years ago to sell.

Could have easily been attending shows in the 60s though Amol. I certainly was!
