Avoid NOS (if you find one), get one that has been rebuilt with ethanol resistant parts or don't expect it to last very long.

Chuck,
If your friend wants to stay period correct, the lid should have an embossed "AC" and the screws should be straight blade.

If you find a correct pump, it is a good idea to rebuild it for use with current fuels - and it's cheap - and it's not visible.

Have fun,

Here is the correct pump.  This is my '61, but the pump is the same for a '60.

There's a difference for AC and non AC cars too.

Chuck,
If your buddy is looking - look for - AC Type 713 pump.
If his car has AC or not, the fuel filter assemblies will be different - one with a vapor return line for AC cars, and the other with out AC looks similar to David's assembly.
Have fun,

I looked the fuel pump part numbers today for another message board.  The 713 pump was the service pump, not the OE one.

My 1960 master parts list has the following:

1954-56   5593283  (A/C type 4269)  added 12/11/20
1957        5593963  (A/C type 4362)
1958        5621645  (A/C type 4491)  there is a note "when exhausted use 5521703.
1959/60   5621681  (A/C type 4622)  there is a note "when exhausted use 5521703
1958-60   5621703  (A/C type 713)

since this is complete list of fuel pumps here are the 2 used on the Eldorado Brougham

1957        1468047  (Carter P2630S)  Electric
1958        5621654  (A/C Type 4492)  Electric
