Have any of you swapped the motor mounts on a 78 Eldorado?   If so I would appreciate some pointers or direction.

G'day Ron,

The best method is described in the Shop Manual.   Plus, the Manual will serve you for a lifetime, and has lots of pretty pictures/diagrams in it.

Plus, you have an email that requires your attention,

Are you just thinking about doing them because of age?  Or are you having an issue?   You don't hear about people replacing these just because very often.   Most people will replace them when the engine is out for other reasons.    Transmission mount does sometimes have more issues possibly from transmission leaks so those sometimes do get replaced more often.    This era is a more typical design vs the 67-72 that was more unique and apparently hard to find these days.    The 73-78 'Eldo' mount is often used for swaps because they have a stud to go into the chassis.

Thanks for the replies.  May I ask which manuals you are referring to?  I have the 1978 preliminary service manual as well as the supplement.  I was not able to find any details pertaining to motor mounts.  I have ordered Mitchell manuals hoping to find some more detail as to motor mount replacement.   As to why I am changing them, they are both worn and failing.  I did swap the trans mount when I had the trans rebuilt.
