Hello all,

I'm looking for history on Sr. Badge 147, 1940 LaSalle 5019.
The 2017 Membership Directory lists Leslie Steigler (then living in New York) as the winner of the badge in 1993.  The Directory has no current info for this person.  Perhaps someone knew Leslie Steigler, or knows the local club he or she belonged to?

I own this car now and would like to stitch together some missing bits of its history.
Thx!

The name shows up with an address of 339 Walzford Rd in the 1984 CLC directory but is not in the 2005 Directory.   My best guess is that he or she lost interest or died?  I Have a few random directorys.  Maybe someone has them closer to the award time??

Also the New York CLC club man have information.

That name appears in the 1993-1994 directory and is last listed in the 1999-2000 directory.  It does not appear in the 2000, 2001, 2003, or 2005 directory.

I see a Leslie C (for Crosby) Stiegler when I search, if alive would be 85 today. Was living in Hamlin, New York, last in Batavia. Has a son named Steven.

I remembered Les from when I lived in Brockport, N.Y. and belonged to the Genesee Valey Antique Car Society.  I pass on the following info.

Hi Tony
Yes, Les was a GVACS member through 2014. He did not renew after that. The address in our records is  2406 Church Road, Hamlin and phone 585-964-9753.
I believe he is still alive but don't know for sure.

Hope all is well with you and Claire.

Tony,

I know neither you, Les or anyone else on this forum. But it warms my heart that you have helped track down a former LaSalle owner and speak of his whereabouts.

Should I be blessed to live another 15 years, as Les had done......I can only hope that someone will care enough to mention me and the LaSalle that I may have once owned.

We are so quickly forgotten.  Life is short and passes quickly. One day we are young and vigorous touching lives , places and things. Far too soon we are old, no longer participating in the affairs of life. Ghost like we become invisible and eventually disappear. Be we famous, rich or poor...we all fade from the flesh of life.

Celebrate each day. Remember those who went before us.

Thank you again for "remembering" one of us.

Thank you for your kind words.  The hobby of antique and classic cars has been a part of my life for a very long time.  I have been a member of AACA, CCCA, and the Pierce-Arrow Society for 52 years.  I say this not for bragging rights, but only to demonstrate my love of the antique automobile, the hobby, and its hobbyists.  This year is my 51st or 52nd consecutive year at the Hershey AACA fall meet.  I will do anything I can to perpetuate the love for the hobby that has brought me so much satisfaction over the years.  Similarly, I hold in great disdain those who rip these cars apart, modify and change them beyond their original historical importance.

Tony, Bob, Glen, Steven,

As a new member, I very much appreciate your dedication to the cars and the hobby.  Thank you for helping me get going down this road, and I hope to have the chance to meet some of you at shows and/or meets...somewhere...sometime.  Meanwhile, keep rolling on.
:)

Cheers,
Herb
