Seeking information about the Penske RS Eldorado, offered at least in 1981 and 1984, possibly in California only. I've learned that there was a 1981 RS Coupe edition, which was effectively the predecessor of the 1982 factory Eldorado Touring Coupe. In 2011, a member of this forum posted about his 1984 Penske RS Eldorado convertible, which also had special features similar to the Touring Coupe. Wondering if there is any additional history, brochures, ads, recollections, etc. out there on the Penske RS cars.

Thanks!

The Penske RS Eldorado was sold new through Roger Penske’s Cadillac dealership in Downey, CA between 1981 and 1984.   It had blacked out chrome, larger tires, touring suspension, etc and was, as you stated, essentially considered the predecessor to the factory Eldorado Touring Coupe.

Another Penske RS Eldorado was offered in 1987.

As an FYI Penske Cadillac for many, many years was Bob Spreen Cadillac. A big advertiser on TV. Their motto - "A beautiful place to lease or buy a beautiful car. . . Where the freeways meet in Downey".  :)
Today they are completely closed. The building is abandoned & vandalized awaiting demolition.

One of the car magazines back then did a road test of one.   Try searching for Car & Driver or Road & Track magazines on Ebay.

Bob Spreen Cadillac became Roger Penske Cadillac in 1979 (although still operated under the Spreen name until 1981) and then it became Massey Cadillac in 1993.  The Downey dealership, whether under Spreen, Penske or Massey, was the largest Cadillac dealership in California for many years.  At the end it had been Casa de Gonzalez but was closed as part of GM's dealership shutdowns in 2009.
