Just finished my first one. Made from the only CS121 I have been able to find in this country so far. Front bracket was Lazer cut and my son machined the front alternator casing to suit.
I found a supplier in Canada for a few at a more reasonable cost so I'm looking into that.  I think Mr Becker had a good deal with Delco to have been able to sell them so cheaply.

No Giff, I am unable to find these CS121 type here at all let alone 6volt, but the conversion could be done to them too.

when you change to 12v do you leave 6v starter or change every thing 12? I sure wish mine turned faster!

Giff, type in the search column "six volt starter grounding cable" and you will find the answer to speed up your starter. It is an easy fix for the problem. Chet 25441

The grounding cable described in that post is a work around for a problem.  This is what I posted before.   

“The grounding strap on the brush plate is only necessary if it is not properly grounded.  That seems to be common when the starter is restored and painted.  The plate is grounded by contact to the body of the starter and the body is grounded by contact to nose which is in turn grounded to the engine block.  If those contact points are painted then the only ground is the bolts that hold the starter together.  Those two bolts do not have the necessary cross section to allow full current flow when starting the engine hence the slow cranking. 
If the paint is cleaned off in all the contact areas the starter will run properly without the extra strap. 
Rust can also cause this problem”

Thanks Glen,when I get a chance I will remove starter and clean.seems to crank good cold but when hot is when it don"t want to start,wondering if volts droping,I checked volts at bat.6,4 then started and reved motor it goes to6,8 is this enough voltage?

My experience is that may be a tad low.  I set my voltage regulators to 14.2 Volts for a 12 volt battery.  That would be 7.1 volts for a 6 volt battery.   
Others may think that is a bit high, but I rarely drive long distance so the higher voltage helps keep the battery charged. 
See how the 6.8 volts works for you.
