I posted this previously in Technical with no replies.  My 41 was converted to 12v by the PO. I need a new voltage regulator.  The current regulator is stamped made in USA with no other numbers.  Generator is 110512/7A20.  Will any 12v regulator work or do I need a specific one?  Thanks, Bob Smits #2426

I have no listing for that Generator in any of my old Delco-Remy books. Are you sure that's the correct number?

As there's no 12v generator readily available for the flathead configuration Bob there's no regulator. That's why no one could answer your question. What Generator did they use on your car?  I converted an Autolite to fit once but you need a regulator that suits the generator

Robert -

Just poking around, it looks like you might have an alternator instead of a generator - see if any of these is what you might have:

I know that does not help in your search for the correct regulator, but it might get you started on the right path.  Per the description for 110-512 alternators, they have an internal regulator.

Looks like Mr Moore might have something there Bob.  Pictures might help us.

You need another digit in that number.   Should be 110XXXX   You can look up on http://www.delcoremy.com/find-a-part/   (to see what you got.)
So long as the generator amp rating matches and the same number of wires, it won't matter.  They adjust.   There's basically two types, self grounding and separate ground.   The rest, holes, orientation, etc. is for fit.
If it's already running, it's probably as discussed.   If the voltage varies, burns batterys, lights too dim or bright, then it needs a regulator.

Just went back out to the garage with my magnifying glass.  Correct number is 11079112/9A26.  The last digit isn't clear as to 0 vs 6 but  I think 6 is correct.  This is a generator and not a alternator.  Thanks for all the replies.   I will remove the air cleaner in the AM and get photos.  Raining like h--- right now. Generator number may be 1107912 instead.  The identifying badge is somewhat smudged and trifocals play tricks on you.

It's a 7 digit number, not 8. 1107912 still doesn't come up as anything in my Delco-Remy listings under generators. You better clean it up well and take a closer look. Delco-Remy #1107912 is an early 40's Starter number, later to be replaced with #1107931 for a '47.  Can you please post a picture so we can get to the bottom of this and try to help out.

After removing the generator my son looked at the number with a magnifying glass and 1107912 is correct.  Bobby you are correct and this number is for a starter per Delco Tech services????  Thanks to all who replied. I am left with the question as to how critical having the right voltage regulator is. The car has been toured over 10K since being converted to 12v and the voltage regulator just died.
