Hello All,

I bought a pair of original California black license plates on ebay and took them to the DMV to register them to my car. They said I need the Year of Manufacturer (YOM) sticker for my model year. There are several available for sale on ebay, but I want to make sure I get a legitimate one. Do any of you California members have any advice on how to do this so it will pass DMV? Thanks.

Wes,
What you need is a YEAR sticker for your plates. Be advised that once your declare a year for the plates, they are FOREVER that year. Stupid rule for plates that spanned several years. What year are you looking for? I'm not sure if the DMV is smart enough to detect non originals ??
