I don't know how many of you watched this auction, I did and it was quite
interesting and exciting.

Cadillac and LaSalle had some notable achievements.  For example, there
was an excellent 1936 V-16 (restored) four door convertible that sold for
$715,000. Also, several nice LaSalles, several 1941 convertibles and coupes
all did well.

The star of the show was a 1933 Pierce Silver Arrow (only 3 exist) that sold
for 2.3 million Dollars.

You can google RM-Sotheby Auctions to see all of the results.

Spirited bidding demonstrated that the hobby is alive and well!

They must have made a mistake with the year Mike as the Silver Arrow was made in 1933.  Not Cadillac related but there was one here in the UK. I remember following its restoration some 30 years ago.

It was a '33 and the very first Silver Arrow produced.  It was used as the 1933 New York and Boston Auto Show display car.

You guys are, of course, correct.  The Silver Arrow was 1933.
My mistake when typing the post.  I corrected it.

My wife and I saw the RM Hershey cars at the auction preview on Wednesday night. All of them were gorgeous. Seeing them all at once was almost like a shock to the system!

It was a pleasure to see an auction that had genuinely interesting cars and didn't consist 99% of red Camaros. Also, it was great to hear intelligent discussion for a change among the spectators rather than the usual cruise night B>S>

Yes, my son and I saw as we were there...in the 5th row or so.  Great auction!  Should have bought the '29 Caddy!  Chuck

Did any of the participants see the orange-and-silver 1930-31 V-16 convertible coupe (Fleetwood style #4335) that apparently was sold at Hershey?

This car was formerly owned by the President of the (short-lived) "International affiliate" for Spain. He put an end to the Spanish club's association with the CLC because of a "severe" disagreement over "my" description of his car in the "Cadillac Database" survivors' roster of sixteen-cylinder Cadillacs; I was in charge of the roster at the time.

I sincerely hope the new (US-based) owner of that V-16 will join the club and enjoy the warm friendship of like-minded Cadillac enthusiasts from all over the world.

Yann:

I checked RM's "sold" list -- I didn't find that car listed as having been sold at
Hershey.  It's also not listed in the catalogue.

This car was for sale in the flea market in the Red Field.  I would guess it sold there.

Sorry for the poor quality photo.
