I have a turn signal indicator bulb out on my ‘61, and despite its coverage of all other bulbs, the shop manual does does not appear to address this.  Does the bulb holder simply pull straight down, or is there more to it? Reaching up there with gentle hand pressure, I’m not feeling anything start to wiggle, and figured I better ask here before I break something.

David,

You need to remove the chrome shield on the top side then twist the bulb. The shield is held in with BRASS screws so they do not rust in place. Use the correct bulb or it will be too bright on one side. If you need more help on this let me know.

Thanks,

Peter:

Thanks for the tip.  Turns out it was a loose wire; when I drove the car after looking at it, the signal was working.
