I am trying to figure out what is the correct color of the metal components in the interior of my car (instrument panel, door, ashtrays, etc).  The trim code is 31A and the paint code is 10-12 which I have decoded from available databases.  Thanks.

First able go to the GM Heritage site https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/index.html and access the GM archives database https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/gm-heritage-archive/vehicle-information-kits.html.

Download the GM Cadillac kit for the 1957 model (it show Eldorado Brougham but also covers the rest as well).
The documentation cover all aspects you are inquiring plus much more, it is an extremely valuable information.

PS The last pages covers the interior paint color combination for the interior molding, etc.
