I cant seem to get my door panel off to fix a sagging window. I got most bolts out but does the pull handle have to come off so that the panel can be removed?  Im mean theres 2 small screws holding it on

Hello Johnny,

My recollection from my other 59/60 GM cars owned decades ago, is that the door pull screws have to be removed. The door pull is pulling the weight of the door, and it is used constantly.  It is unlikely that if the door pull was attached only to the door panel, it would work as a door pull.

If you have the Fisher Body manual for your car, it will describe the procedure for door panel removal.

Respectfully submitted,

Hello Johnny,

On my '67, I found a screw that was not called out in the Fisher Body manual.  It was hidden in the "fuzzy" at the top of the door panel.  Some panels had to be lifted straight up in order to "unhook" them from the inner door sheet metal at the top of the door.  Hope this helps.

Johnny after releasing the door panel nails from the door, the inside handle, and also the door pull ,the remote mirror knob etc, you have to lift the door panel up first before pulling it away from the door.
