Hi cadi enthusiasts!

Would a 472 Cadillac motor from a 1971 Cadillac Fleetwood be an easy swap to drop into a 67' deville?

Thanks!

It will go well if you put in a 68 up BOP pattern transmission.  I
would rebuild the 67 switch pitch parts into the new trans case.

Good advice about the transmission but no, it is definitely not an easy swap --- but it has been done!

I haven't done this swap, so correct me if I am missing something.  Best get
an early 70s Cad trans, and interchange parts into the new trans case till you
have the original 67 configuration (tail shaft length, speedo gears, shift arm,
etc) but the BOP pattern and preferably the 67 switch pitch pump assembly
and converter.  Go with the later pan and filter, add drain, easier to service.
This amounts to a a complete refresh of all the internal and external seals
($30), but most hard parts may be reused.  That has been done a lot here,
so my 77 Olds has a switch pitch 70 Cad trans (with electronic control, it is
wonderful).

Once this is done, the engine and trans ought to bolt right in.  Then its just
a matter of getting all the accessories fitted up.  One possible issue could
be the the later front oil pump/filter hitting the 67 frame.  Look into a 425
pump, smaller filter, or filter relocating kit.  good luck, Bruce Roe

This link is from a thread on this subject at the Modified Chapter of the Cadillac & LaSalle Club, you will no doubt get more help and responses over there.  You will no doubt read the whole thread but the important part starts with Reply #5 at this thread.  It is for a '66 Cadillac but pretty much the same for your '67.

I would not call this a bolt in but levels of difficulty are certainly different for different folks.  Suggest you join up over at the Modified Chapter.  http://www.modifiedcadillac.org/forum/index.php

That thread pretty much covers it.  One thing you will NOT have to
do, is cut or modify your driveshaft, because the trans really is a bolt
in once set up as I described.  Yes the trans will need to come apart
to swap in the right parts, by far the lesser evil here, esp since any
original 67 is way, WAY overdue for a refresh.  good luck, Bruce Roe
