Ken,  are you going for a 100 pt show car or something nice but not perfect ? What shape is yours in ?  You can do some really nice work on your own with some 0000 steel wool and some Autosol Polish.  Time consuming but inexpensive.

the owner wants it original.  or i would do that.  honestly i want to chrome it.  its a show piece/ driver  very nice car with a few modern upgrades like brakes and such.  he wants it anodized.  he thinks it shines better than chrome..  yes i know the truth behind that.

King of Trim reanodized my ‘60 grille and I’m very happy with it. Other members have used them for this as well.  Unfortunately I don’t have a good picture handy.  I suppose you could chrome it, but I suspect that would be substantially more expensive.

I used:

Bill Canning

Industrial Metal Plating in PA

for Alum anodizing on a '66 grill.
Lead from Ralph Messina.  You need to prep before sending and take apart for best results, as they are just an anodizing co, not an auto resto shop...ie they plate most aluminum items.  Around $300 for a grill.   Not sure what Trim charges.  Chuck
