Would "a whole lot more" be an acceptable answer?

Looks like 2 different cars, first one is maroon and black.

I would definetely pay the 15,002 for it today, however i think there is a 1 missing from the price, 115,002 sounds a little more like it. ;D.It is amazing what old cars used to sell for back then,i have a issue of hemmings from 1969,that is really sad to read,Old cars then were just a hobby then, not a business like today. It wasn't as old back then.  My 69 today is much older than a 31 in 63!

But if I had a time machine, 15k in adjusted dollars is no problem for a guy who knows who won the 63 World Series!

@35-709  I just grabbed (what appear to be) two pics online of the model indicated in the vintage ad.....that's not the actual car for sale in 1963.  But given the scarcity....who knows?   :o

$1,850 was about my gross income for the year in 1963.

Would your time machine be able to transport a whole car or just you?   If it could be the whole car it would be fun to go buy that 31 off the showroom floor and drive it home to the future.   You wouldn't have 80+ years of rot to deal with.

If the time machine was only big enough to fit parts maybe you could run a classic parts business?   You need that little chrome clip for your 31?  No problem, let be go 'in the back' and get that for you.   Woosh you pop back to the dealer for that year and pick one up.

LOL @ TJ... the possibilities are endless.  I'd probably go back and meet my just-married Dad and tell him to stash these NOS boxes of parts for me in his basement til I was 18...then give them to me with a note (that my future self wrote) saying "hang onto this stuff another 15-20 years, then sell all of this NOS stuff at top dollar and retire with a few million in the bank".  Oh, and also tell Dad not to sell his 1955 Eldo Biarritz he had when I was a kid, because it would become worth more than the house within 25 years.  Stuff like that.  LOL
