Went with a friend to look at some antique cars that were for sale from an estate.  There was a restored 41 Cad convertible coupe, in a dark bronze color.   Data plate said SO, and the  only numbers for paint and trim was 1769.  Does this mean anything to anyone?

Tony,

1769 represents the Special Order number Cadillac used for that specific car.  One would need to obtain the factory invoice to have a chance at determining the details of the order.  It could have been the color - or it could have been something completely different.   The invoice may or may not contain all of those details.

50 bucks to Allied Vaughn  & help from some of us will solve the mystery.

That's good to know that the original invoice available from Allied and Vaughan would provide some info.  Appreciate it.  However, my friend will try to buy 4 cars as a package for the forthcoming spring Florida auctionsl and I don't think he really needs to know that much.  Thanks again
