How can I verify that the factory 1957 front seat is the same as a 1958 front seat for a series 62 coupe or convertible?

Not sure what your question is.   A '57 is not a '58, so you can't verify that.
If you're trying to use a '57 seat in a '58 and will it fit, or vice versa, is that your question?
The year's trim won't match.   But one might be able to transplant covers one for the other, if available.
One should be able to find the proper year seat, if you search thoroughly.   Series 62, generally, no armrest in front seat.
You can view(free) the interior trim by models for both years, by going to the www.gmheritagecenter.com and looking in the specifications manuals for both years.
The parts list, sec 34, is listed by trim code.   There's not one number for the seat assy.

The 58 front seat has the same fixing points as the 57. My 57 Seville has 58 seats fitted back and front.
