Hi,
Can anyone tell me a good way to bench test these switches ?

Michael,

The best way is to test them when they are installed on the steering column since they can be properly adjusted left and right.

If you have it outside;

The two blade contacts are for the ignition path, moving the slider to that position (parallel to them) you have continuity, this should be “P”, moving the slider over one position/notch you still should have continuity this will be “N”.

The two bullet contacts would be for the reverse light, moving the slider to the other end about 1/8” before reaching the stop-end there should be continuity between them.
