Gentlemen

What condensor should i use for a 12 v 1940 lasalle 52 conversion? I assume the 6v condensor will not work!

You didn't say which condenser.  In general the voltage rating of
early auto caps is not tied to the battery voltage or polarity, a
6V pos ground works for 12 neg ground. It might have a rating
of 400 volts.

This is not true of newer electronic type chemical caps.  Bruce Roe

I presume you're talking about the condenser in with the points?  I have never had to change one for a conversion and I have only twice seen them rated for a voltage.
Yours will probably work. We always use 60s GM models like below.

Thanks Steve on your advice I started the car with the existing 6v condenser and left it in for 1 hr and she works perfectly. Thanks again for your advice....Amol

Amol,

Last year, 2017, in the Self Starter I did a fairly comprehension article on condensers for Cadillac. You might want to review it. Should answer your question on the condenser.
