1959 Solid State Regulator

Has anyone converted (or know of someone who can convert) their original Delco-Remy regulator to solid state circuitry?
I've heard that the Well's VR715

is being used with success, but being a square can (vs rectangle), it wouldn't look original enough for me.

My 1960 A/C voltage reg was replaced with a new Delco 12v 48-52A 3- Term

I think he gutted and Solid Stated it.

I will dig up my paperwork if you want. I remember discussing it with him.

He is a caring professional. I saw his shop in person.

That said, I still haven't turned the key yet its been a couple years.

Thank you for the offer Mr Wick, but I'm staying with my original VR.  The issue was a wonky battery. Once replaced, my flickering lights, charging issues, etc were resolved.
I'll bookmark this url for future reference...
