Need to do a light cleaning on my 1941 convertible top.  Tan canvas, about 25 years old but in good condition since car has always been kept inside.  Spray on wipe off.  Using a water hose not an option.  Damp cloth?  Water/detergent solution?  Detailer spray?  Don't want to use Armoll or anything with silicone in it.  Suggestions?  Will be leaving for the GN in a couple of days, so too late to order anything.

There is a product (made by STP Corp) called "Tuff
Stuff" that is in a spray can and is a foam.  Great for
any upholstery, rugs, cloth or vinyl.  No hose or
water needed.  Spray on, wipe off -- if very dirty
use a damp cloth to wipe off.  See can directions for
details.  One can should do your whole roof.

Available at any good auto parts store.  I've used it
for years.

Great!  Just checked my local HD, they have it in stock.  Will pick some up this afternoon.
Also found Meguiars makes a convertible top cleaner, but not available locally.
Thanks to all!

I use 303 marine fabric/canvas cleaner on the roof of my Seville, which is Vicodec, the same material they used for convertible tops.  They also make a protectant.

The beige canvas top (Hartz premium) on my Pierce Arrow was installed in 1984.  The regimen I have always used is a good soaking every spring, then soft brush with mild dish soap, good rinse dry in the sun.  If this complete cleansing is not done, this is how these old tops "wick".  i.e. the dirt left in the material if caught in the rain, will make wicking lines that will never come out.  Moreover, this annual soaking does not hurt the skived leather piping either.
