Hello ,
My original water outlets (head to Rad) are full of holes in the neck.
I am fortunate to have another set available. They are slightly taller and
one has a heater hose connection factory brazed in the side.
My original heater hoses came from the water pump and a fitting on the back of the passenger side head.
Are these outlets a later model?
Should I use these outlets as is , modify them to look original, or repair the original
outlets?
If I use the good outlets, how should the heater hoses be routed?
Thanks,
Dennis

Not heater hose outlets Dennis. That's a later water outlet.  On cars after 42 they fitted conventional thermostats in the water passage and removed the shutters. For cold starts this needs a by-pass system, so the later water pump has the same fitting and a hose that passes over to the left-hand outlet and when the thermostat is closed the water bypasses from the pump over the engine and back through the rad for fast warm-up.

Thanks once again. That makes sense.
