Drivers side... argh! I knew it was loose, I had a piece of duct tape under it, just noticed tonight at the drive in that it was gone. No idea when I lost it, I was in and out of the car so many times yesterday, its not in the car. ARGH! Tell me there's a magic place that would have/can make an upholstery button.... so bummed, I'm trying so hard to make the car 'better', now this....

I had my doubts before when you said you were going to tape it back on.    If you take a piece of material of your choice to an upholsterer they will cover a button blank with it.  They use a special button press.      You may be able to find a section of matching seat cloth under a seat that doesn't show. Only needs a small circle of cloth about 1/2" bigger than your button.
Finding a matching one in a wrecking yard matching your interior may not be so easy I'm guessing.
Hell, if you can't find anywhere send the cloth here and I'll get it made for nothing.

You will have to get that seat back off eventually to fix the new button as we discussed before.

The button was 028S, dumbarton medium turqoise. So sad.
I'd be thrilled with used. Reached out to all the places I was at the other day, "maybe" its on the ground
somewhere. And I'd be thrilled with 'used' Scot. Ugh, can believe this happened. I know others have bigger issues with their cars, but.....  :(

i would take the car to a local upholstery shop and see if they can make you one, they have all types of material left over from other jobs, they might have something close?Lebaron Bonney would be  good place to check too, they arent too far from you?. Harvey

Just order a sample of your cloth from sms?  It would probably be big enough...

I think they have some of the correct fabrics for a 70.  Others may be able to comment on the quality, but for a button, it might be an option.  I don't remember what upholstery you had in the ark.

From my experience when they supplied the material for me to re-trim my 62 series 1959 coupe the match was superb, and as someone has already suggested, their sample would be more than enough.

Outstanding, I'll give them a try.
When I get done with my client today I'm going to check the ground at the 3 places I took The Ark the
other day, 'maybe' its on the ground somewhere....  :(

Give it up girl, It's on I-495 or US-6 somewhere  ;)

Maybe it will link up with my throttle bushing clamshell housing sometime!

<sigh>
After a long day I stopped at the 3 places I had The Ark and looked around on the ground, no joy.
Here's hoping SMS has a sample that's similar.
Grateful for all the info as always.

Just ordered a sample from SMS, 085 looks pretty darned close!
One of my commercial clients has a tailor/seamstress as a tenant,
he said he'd lean on her to make a button for me, and attach it to
the car, we'll see.

Thanks again folks, very grateful.
