Were does the carburetor return spring go on a 1960 Cadillac?

Looking at the engine from the front of the car, the thermostat housing has 4 bolts, the right rear bolt (closest to the driver in this case) should have a 90 degree tab (bracket) under it with a small hole for the other end of the rather long spring.  These brackets on the thermostat housing are often long gone after the first thermostat change, easy to make another one.

Perhaps I missed something?

Is it  Rochester  or an AFB?

The one I pictured is an AFB.  Would indeed help to know if the OP's carb is an AFB or Rochester for the carb end of the spring.

I had the correct try-power spring made, but that won't work for you.
