did the 38's have a fuse panel?
Thanks

No. The only safety device is a circuit breaker in the light switch.

If you don't drive it regularly (or, maybe even if you do) that is a great reason to install a battery cutoff switch. Over the years, I have known several people who have had their antique cars burn in their garage. I believe that mice or other rodents got into the car, shorted the system, and started a fire. Apparently, rodents are attracted to salt - even the little amount that comes from our hands when we touch/handle wiring.

In my 1940 LaSalle, the battery box under the floor in front of the driver has no screws on its cover, and the battery cable clamps aren't tight, so I can take off the ground battery cable in a second if needed.

...but I also installed a modern fuse block, because i'm an electrical engineer.
