Thank you for the kind words. Where did you learn German? during the army? Despicte my name, my mother tongue is...French. However, living in Switzerland, I can speak German too.

The Tassie Devil(le)

Bruce,
I noticed that the car was left wet when they photographed it.  Was the car really that shiny or was it a wet-car-looks-great move?
Definitely a Wet-look car.

In real life, when I actually got to it, it was definitely dry, it still looked reasonable.

But, when stripping it, it was another story.   Bog EVERYWHERE, especially filling the hole where the Seat Belt Mount was.

The Tassie Devil(le)

One must remember that this vehicle was being driven in the condition it was, as it was involved in a crash, which is why it was in storeage for so long (Since 1990 at least)

And, worse still, someone did all the "Repairs" and put it back on the road.

But, not one useable part went to the crusher.

The Hood was bent badly, and the front Fenders were totally rusted out, and bent.

EVERYTHING else is in the Container with my '72 Eldo Convertible, and other stuff, which will arrive here on Sunday.

Thanks Jim! I intended to put more pictures but I should resize them. Unless people want to see more from that car, I let it that way.

Great thread, Roger. It is hard to imagine how to do this without the internet. Seems impossible to me.

A fascinating look back to the beginnings of the European US car scene.

How does it come that you have a name that origins from the Deutschschweiz although you are from the Suisse romande?

Thanks Nil! My grand grand grand father moved from the German part of Switzerland to the French one, long ago...Don't ask me why, it's history! The fact is that my parents could not speak German at all.
People restored cars before Internet; I did 3 that way. It takes a lot longer of course. It was a time, in eighties, I just sent letters! To restore my Brougham and this Biarritz, I got help with Hemings Motor News and I was fortunate to have some good suppliers in the US.
