I today received from Rock Auto new points with an integrated condenser. It was different from the stuff that was installed in the distributor. I could not get it to work. Has anyone any experience installing these integrated units?

Shouldn't be any problem unless it's the wrong set.
Make sure it's inserted properly.
They started selling these, because they sold points and condenser usually, this is just convenient/faster.
Take a points adjusting tool(flexible shaft allen/hex head screwdriver) and turn the screw to set the spacing/gap on a high spot at the cam follower.   Then use dwell meter once the timing is verified.(cap should have a door on it for these.)

Yes. All bad. I don’t know why but I have never had anything but grief from the uni sets.

My experience with uniset points has been the same --- very poor.

Oh I see. Perhaps I’ll juat have to send it back to Rockauto. I’ve had problems with rock auto lately, sending me parts that have been wrong for the car or damaged and now not working. I received a brake master cylinder from them the other day with deep cuts in it. Wouldn’t have affected the function but still, I don’t expect to pay full price for a part that is damaged.
