Hi, New member here.  I'm having a problem identifying some Cadillac heads that I acquired.  I have 4 heads all together.  2 of them have casting numbers of 1465406-7.  From what I can find I think they are '56 or '57 331 heads.  The other number I have 1454022-3.  I can't find anything on this number.  Any help would be appreciated.

Does anyone have a 331 head casting chart.  I can't find a year for this number 1454022-3.

Thanks in advance.

I have an interchange manual with casting numbers. According to that book, the number 1454022 was for heads used from 1949 to 1953. the book has also 3 other different casting numbers for 49-53 heads.

There were 2 different cylinder heads used in 1949:

  a. early heads are set up for valve covers held on with 2 bolts in the middle of the valve cover;

  b. late heads heads are set up for valve covers held on with 4 bolts at the periphery of the valve cover.

I think the same late '49 heads were used in '50 and '51 too.

As I understand it, 1952 and '53 heads have larger exhaust valves and exhaust ports.
