I just bought a 41 -61 4 door and I can't figure out what the levers by the rear seat side windows are for. They move front to back but I have no idea what they do.Thanks Ron Parker

They are supposed to slide the small windows back and forth.

Thanks. I guess mine are broken, they don't move the windows. Ron Parker

Quite common when the window runners get stuck and it breaks something.  I may have a pair of the runner mechanisms

The rear window regulators/runners are not necessarily broken but rusted solid from disuse. Take a look, it is easy:
-remove garnish moulding
-remove the screws that hold the ventilator frame to the body
-remove regulator/channel/glass assembly in one piece
It is a bit tricky to get the assembly out of its place but you'll get it done after a while. You might have to lubricate the channel/ventilator where it is rusted together to slide it into a position where the assembly comes out. Closed position if I remember rightly, but you seem to have that, already.

Hi Hilmar, Ron has already said the levers are moving freely but not the window. Guess that would mean something broken eh? or glass come out the channel?

Hi Steve,
it may well be that the levers move freely. You pull them out of the ventilator notches by moving them against a spring. At the end of this movement you pull or shove the levers, whichever direction is intended, to close or open the window.
So, in my view, the levers may move freely against the spring and pull the tooth out of the respective notch, but will resist further forward or backward movement, thus not moving the assembly forward or backward because the ventilator part is rusted to the frame part due to years of disuse and perhaps unfriendly weather conditions.
Wish you a good night in case you are still here. I am tucking in, now.
Hilmar.
