1966 De Ville convertible. The door locks work when i use the switch but when i close the door they unlock. The key/lock works with the door closed. Any body know whats wrong?

I think you have to hold in the door button when closing it to keep them from unlocking, that is the way it is on my 1970 (electric locks), and the way it was on 1965 Thunderbird with vacuum locks.  This was done so you did not accidentally lock keys in car, it was a conscious thing you had to do different than normal close the door, an improvement from the 50's.

On my 55 you have to hold the button in for them to lock or use the key.
