Alas, I am likely a bad example of a CLC member, who weighs in far too much on this web site, and contributes little else, save his annual dues. However, I wish to extend my personal gratitude to Steve Stewart for his leadership and hard work with the "Self-Starter Magazine." As a former classroom teacher of English and the related language arts, I am keenly aware of the grueling effort one expends on the production of a monthly publication.  Steve's control of the English language, his unerring ability to create attractive articles and his virtually error free spelling and grammar make this publication outstanding in every way.  Thank you Steve.    James Landi

I did it once (Nov/Dec, 1967), and that was just selecting and pasting pictures in year order on sheets of 8 1/2" X 11" white paper and sending them in to the Editor. And when I think of this Sword of Damocles hanging over ones head each and every month for all those years... Quoth the Raven: "Never more!!!"

Thanks, Steve. You helped give us a world class magazine.

Steve is a great writer -- colorful, entertaining, and just the right turn of phrase. He is also an excellent editor.  Our SS has been of unusually high quality for this sort of publication. I read everything in every issue... Thank you, Steve!

I'll add my two cents here and say that having
worked with Steve when I was writing articles for
the "Self-Starter" he will be missed.  He was always
helpful and supportive when articles were submitted.

Putting out a monthly award winning publication like
ours is no easy task.

I wish him and his wife Maggi well and hope to see
them both at some future event.
