I picked up another 1941 60S with what I think is the original engine. I pulled the plugs and put oil in the cylinders and tried to turn the engine over by hand using the bolt on the front of the crankshaft and the engine would not move. Any one have any idea on how to free it up?

If your car is standard shift try putting it in gear and rocking the car. If it is hydro you can take the flywheel inspection cover off and turn the flywheel with a pry bar or large screwdriver. Good Luck    Harry

pull all the plugs, fill each with diesel fuel and let it set for a day or more..then do like Harry says,,,,
when it comes loose, spin it with the starter to get the fuel out.... lots of smoke when it starts.....
