Guys,

My 37 arrived today and she's in really nice shape albeit some paint crazing on a few small areas.  After the transport driver took her off the rig I pulled out the headlight switch and I have fog lights along with one parking bulb working.  The headlights are out as well as the license light, dome light, and half the dash lights.  I have the shop manual but does anyone have a source for these bulbs?  Thanks.

Jeff yes I found those but what about the 2523 bulbs that the manual also states are a replacement?  I've seen plenty of 2323 bulbs.

Tim, I may have the headlight bulbs. I will check and let you know. Sounds like you won the prize.     Harry

Harry that would be awesome!  Yes this car is exceptionally clean.  The only downside is the paint is crazing pretty badly in some spots.  I was aware of this and I plan to eventually take it back to the original Peruvian Gray as its currently in a Ricardo Maroon color.  I was able to take her for a quick spin yesterday around my neighborhood and I'm very impressed with the 322 performance so far.

I got my reproduction wiring harness from YnZ. They sell bulbs too. They'll be able to answer questions about what is correct.

Thanks Tom.  I had been looking at Chevs of the 40s for replacements before you sent this link.

Bulbs ordered!  BTW does anyone know how the dome light is supposed to function.  Does it just pop on when you open the door or is there a switch that I'm not seeing?

The dome light switch is just behind the passenger door.

I would check the bulbs for continuity before i repaced them, they may have a bit of corrosion in the sockets, wiggle them and see if they want to work, this is common on old cars that sit for a long time.Be careful handling the original wiring,it is propably very brittle,it will function fine, but the coating on it is best left alone,i 100% endorse YNZ for a wiring harness, put one in my 37 60 series,it was fantastic how well it fit,all the wires had little number tags on them,it was easy to install. The bulbs may be available locally, take the numbers to a good parts shop, they should be able to order them, the headamp bulbs are going to ne the hard ones to find,i found mine at a swap meet, got them for a buck each, guy didnt know what they would fit. The '37 headlight setup is a weird one with the three position switch. The owners & shop manual call for a 2330 (32-32 candle power) for the left headlight and a 2530 (32-50 candle power) for the right side, unless the brighter bulb has not yet been approved by the state. It looks like the 2330 bulbs are being reproduced. The 2530 are more scarce and there is also a
50-50 candle power bulb. I'm not sure of the number on that one. Tim, I did check and I do have some of the 2330 and also a few of the 2530s.   Harry

Thank you for your help so far.  I've just returned from the carport and it looks like this car might have had a moderate restoration in the past.  That or someone REALLY took good care of it over the last 81 years.  Dome light works after I found the switch.  The bulbs are burn out in a few spots and I believe this is just because of the bulbs.  The previous owner was an older gentleman and I don't think he drove it at night very often.

Harry I'll send you a PM.

Btw does anyone have the upper bracket for the rear license plate?  I have the bottom portion which is attached to the taillight but the top bracket (or clamp bar) is missing.
