74 Eldorado Wiper Motor Switch

Have owned my 74 Eldorado convertible for about 16 months now and for the first time I got into some rain showers this week. Hit the switch and discovered I have basically one speed....wide open! Do I have a bad switch or is there another component that controls speed?

All positions other than off are apparently high?   How abut if you hit wash?  Or is this still where you hit wash there is a mechanical interlock with the switch that moves it to the low position?

Is 74 on the door or dash?    Does it have the intermittent function or just the mist single pulse?
