1961 Master Cylinder and Steering Box colors??

I have a restored M/C and steering box that’s bare metal. Should it be painted or keep in raw form. If painted what shine?  Thanks Dave

These are made of cast iron.  Eastwood has a paint the
duplicates the look while protecting them from rust.
