Dear Members,

Can anyone suggest a reasonably priced, modern replacement battery that can be installed in my '54 Cadillac without having to change the cables?  It seems the old, long batteries last a shorter and shorter period of time, and since it is so hard to see anyway, I would be happy with something a little better and with more cranking amps. Thanks!  Rex

I would recommend Interstate batteries, I bought one for my 55 4 years ago and it is still doing great, even here in Texas.
They also have a battery that is a couple hundred higher cold cranking amps than the stock, I believe it is a 3et or 3eet. That's the one I bought, it is about a 1/4 to a 1/2 inch higher than the stock battery.
Price back then was about $150
