1954 Cadillac Eldorado Garage Find

I was contacted by a person that asked if I'd be interested in an old car in his grandfather barn, sent me this picture. He only told me it was an old Cadillac and don't know anything about it other than it's been sitting for many years. I think it's time for another road trip very soon !!

Hi Dan,

Be sure to check the trim tag to make sure it is an Eldo.  I notice its missing the 54 Eldo only upper door trim (hockey stick), emblem, and door handle guard.  It could be possible that someone added the aluminum Eldo side trim which I would be interested in purchasing.

Eldorado also had wire wheels. Definitely check the body tag.

Well, I did mention that it probably wasn't worth very much... But, I'm an optimist. I'd give him $500 sight un-seen!

If and when I do get this car, if definitely will not be parted out. I would clean it up and sell it as it is. I'd have a hard time parting out a car that is desirable as these are, only 2,150 made and somebody will restore it. Been in the business to long to no better what a parts car is and isn't.

Hi Dan,

I don't think you are following the logic here.  It is very possible that car is not an Eldorado.  If it is, someone went through a bunch of trouble to fill in the upper Eldo only door trim and emblem.  That's why I advise looking at the trim tag.  The Dinoc decals on the dash and interior garnish I believe were Eldo only along with the aluminum floor mats in the front and fiberglass hard boot for the top.  If it is in fact a series 62 with the Eldo aluminum trim added on, the trim is probably worth more than the car.  Good luck, I'm hoping it is the real deal!

Even if it's "just" a plain old 54 convertible that's still a great find depending on the price of course.  You have to check it out and see what the deal is!  Old Caddy's in barns are not too plentiful these days.
