So what’s the difference between between the kcal unit and non kcal unit?

I see essentially no difference between California and 49 state
computers.  Check vacuum hoses.  That system was so clean
that it would pass 1980 Cal regs.

I think they just listed a Cal version so the EPA would think
it was better.  Bruce Roe

I just picked up the whole setup for $200 figured I could keep extra just in case

it looks like the 76-77 5.7L setup with iron intake and large 2.25 bore
throttle body.  That is the set to use with a 6.6L (403) engine.  I would
check the 2 wire temp sensors for use as spares, half I have seen are
bad.  Check the ECU for burned (fuel pump power) pins in the very
center of the connector area.  Hopefully your car has the fuel pump
relay  kit installed to avoid damage here. Basically the 76-77 Seville
ECUs will work well in a 77.

Best to swap your ECU with the spare to make sure it is actually good.
If so keep swapping it every year to make sure you still have a good
spare, these can fail as easily on the shelf as in service (from moisture).
If it is faulty, send it here for repair, or it is a boat anchor.  Check which
ECU you have, here is an ap list.  Bruce Roe

Here is my list of early ECUs with application.  I
believe some more late models may exist which
came out after my source of info.

Additions or corrections, let me know.  Bruce Roe

I've never actually seen the 'big bore' TB before.  Looks like it will flow quite a bit more air than the later-year Seville TBs.

Its the same TB as used on the 500 and 425, same bore as a Qjet.
The 78-80 aluminum intake used a much smaller, redesigned TB
for the 350, inadequate for my bored 403.  Some have opened up
the later intake to fit the big TB.

The problem with the TB is, it is NOT a progressive setup like a Qjet.
So on my smaller 79, it takes some care to avoid spinning the fronts
every time the big TB comes off idle.

I have new manifold to TB gaskets for both sizes.  Bruce Roe

Very detailed! Now sitting in front of it the size looks like my 77 tb. Where do I buy the relay kit for the fuel pump?

The Dec 2010 Self Starter shows how do it, page 24.  If you want
