I am replacing the exhaust system on my LaSalle.  All the original hangers are missing and have been replaced with generic parts.  Would someone have a photo of what the original set up looked like?  I'm especially interested in the front and rear muffler supports.  It looks like Steele offers the following:
a tailpipe hanger

and double studded insulator
https://www.steelerubber.com/exhaust-system-hanger-70-0220-13
and a grommet

I am trying to figure out just what I need, where it fits and what I am still missing.  It looks like there may have been some cross frame brackets that support the muffler hanger.  Thank you for any help.

Hello Scott, Here are two pictures from the Cadillac and Lasalle Master Parts Book 1935-1949. This will get you started. You will need (1) #70-0626-13 from Steele and (2) #70-0220-13 from Steele. You do not need #70-0202-13. That is for a 1938. Let me know if you have more questions. The hangers on my car are correct. I might have to take some pictures of mine. Also the original clamps work differently than the modern U-bolt style. The ridge in the clamp is for a reason. At a joint, the pipe end on one side has a ridge/ring and the other side has a flare. When connected the flare touches the ring. The ridge in the clamp keeps them from pulling apart. The last 10 inches or so of the tailpipe is a separate piece. It is coated with porcelain like the exhaust manifold on the engine. It is clamped on with the last hanger.

Tom,
Looks like a little fabrication and I'll be all set. Exactly what I needed. Thank you.
