1955 Body Codes

Does anyone know the Body letter codes for the ( Style ) for 1955 Cadillac's ? I have seduced that M is the Fleetwood Sixty Special.

Shouldn't that be incorporated into the 60XX, 62XX, or 75XX, 4 digit plate code?

Hi Bill:

I must admit when I first saw your question I was a
bit puzzled myself.  The "letters" are used together with
the numbers to denote body "style" as follows for 1955:

6237 -- series 62 base coupe, no letter
6237D -- series 62 Coupe Deville
6219 -- series 62 base sedan, no letter
6239D -- series 62 Sedan Deville
6237S -- Eldorado (S = Special Convertible)
7523 -- 60 Series Fleetwood Special Sedan, no letter
7533 -- 75 Series Imperial Sedan (limo), no letter

Please note that after the number / letter in the style
coding that an "X" was added if the car was delivered
with power windows.  For example, a Sedan Deville with
power windows would be:  6237DX

I'm unable to find in my info any code "M" that you
mention.

Thank You Gentlemen , on the record of cars built from the factory the nineth column " Style" it shows these codes Z,K,M,J G, F, M I have figured out that M is the 60 Special my car but no info on the others. If anyone with a 1955 has sent for their Factory sheet what is the style letter accorded with your car please ?

Does anybody know what CWC means on the 1955 Factory sheets. It is located 4th. column in from the right side where the Key Codes were?
