The options shown on my data tag include a -B- which is shown as a bucket seat option A51 but my car is a 1970 Sixty Special with a power bench seat code -Y- which is also on the data tag. Am I missing something?

"B" on the body tag is for the rear window defogger.

That makes sense, it does have a rear defogger. Where did you see that B code because I was looking on gm heritage center and they all were saying bucket seats (eldorado).

Please post a pic of your tag.

Tony,
Your body tag translates as follows:
1664 BDY - this is the 1,664th 1970 Fleetwood Sixty Special, out of 1,738 built
TRM 021- Medium Blue Divan Cloth, straight-across bench seat
05C - your car was built during the third week of May, 1970
90 90 PNT - your car's color is Spartacus Blue Firemist, and does not have a vinyl roof
E=EZI tinted glass
Y=6-way power bench seat (if your car had the 40/60 seat with 6-way power on both sides, X and V would appear, and Y would not)
M=Power door locks
K=Automatic Climate Control
B=Rear window defogger.

Many items, such as cruise control and tilt-telescope wheel, were considered CHASSIS options, and not BODY options, and thus were not encoded.

There is considerable disparity in some cases between the letter codes used on the body plates, versus the letter codes used in the Cadillac data book, and other Cadillac sales materials.

Thanks for the great breakdown!! I appreciate it..

Charles,
You're correct. I had to look thru my "stash" of data plates & finally found one with a B.
