Hello,

I was wondering if anyone cans say what color the oil filter mounting arm should be for a 1969 Cadillac 390. Was it natural cast aluminum, blue or black?

I was also wondering if there is a torque spec for this part. Maybe I missed it in my shop manual.

Thanks again for the help. I’m getting done to details on this project.

Cheers,
John

There is no listing in the 1960 Supplement for the Oil Filter Mount, but one should do it up just tight, but not too tight.

Ah yes I totally forgot to check the supplement. I looked in the 59 manual.  Thanks for checking.

And I wil paint it to match the block.

Thank you both.

A 1960 390 does not have an oil filter mount, 1959 was the last year for that.  1960 was the first year for a spin-on filter underneath the engine.  If you have a canister filter on the topside of your engine, you most likely have a '59 engine.

Thanks it is a 1960. The arm I am referring to is the bolt on cast aluminum part that the spin on filter attaches to on the passenger side lower block.
