What was Consumer Reports first auto issue... and "pick" ? ?

FWIW, the first auto issue of Consumer Reports magazine was issued in... 1953.   

And their choice for the best car then was... the CADILLAC!

As Mel Allen would say, "How 'bout that!"

I agree, and it has to be said that Cadillac was STILL the Standard of the World back then.
